The reported passing standard
The NDEB reports a test-equated, rescaled score of 75 or greater as a Pass. A rescaled score below 75 is reported as a Fail.
A score of 75 is not 75 percent
The passing standard is established through standard setting and then rescaled to 75. Because the NDEB also uses test equating to account for differences between examination versions, a reported score of 75 does not mean that exactly 75 percent of questions were answered correctly.
How to interpret practice scores
Practice percentages are useful for tracking your own progress, but they are not official rescaled scores and cannot predict an AFK result. Review question volume, subject coverage, pacing and low-confidence answers alongside the percentage.
Use results to choose the next action
After a quiz or mock exam, separate knowledge gaps from reading errors and time-pressure errors. That diagnosis is more useful for planning the next study block than comparing one practice percentage directly with the official passing standard.
